Hoaruseb River and tributaries Go back to Remote Camera Trap
23 Oct 2008:
The second camera (a donation from Naples
Zoo - see Sponsors and Funding)
was installed at a lone tree along a narrow valley between the Hoaruseb
and Khumib Rivers. The tree is used for scent marking by lions,
cheetahs, spotted and brown hyaenas, and possibly by leopards as
well. The camera will record data on the frequency that these large
carnivores visit the tree and capture ID photos.
