Fundraiser in Cape Town - 8 March 2013
Venue: Pampoenkraal, Altydgedacht, Durbanville 8 March 2013 at 19h00. The event is arranged by Etienne Bruwer Kalaharifonds & Lochner Photography. For details futher contact: Dr E Bruwer docet@iafrica.com. The Dylan Lewis Studio is supporting the event by making the Lion Head II Maquette available at a reduced fee. The bronze scalpture will be auctioned at the event with the proceeds going to the Desert Lion Project.

Priority Funding needs
Support to the DesertLion Conservation Project can be provided by sponsoring or donating specific items or equipment that are essential to the running of the Project A list of items from the main Budget that can easily be acquired are presented below. Interested sponsors can purchase these items directly from the suppliers and the items can then be shipped to Namibia by the supplier, or by the sponsors themselves. This is the biggest and most important expense of the Project. Between July 2008 and January 2012, the Land Cruiser has been active with research in the desert for 94% of the time. A total of 99,114 km was driven, mostly in rough terrain and on unpaved tracks, and 23,600 litres of petrol were used. The monthly and annual fuel requirements are listed below (based on the current price of N$10.20 per litre).
