Lions in Obab/Uniab area - 12 July 2019

An adult lioness from the central Obab/Uniab area is currently utilising the coastal zone to hunt seals. She was found on the beach feeding on a Cape fur seal. During the night the lioness moved to her litter of cubs that are still hidden in thick reeds near the ocean. A report was sent to the Ministry of Environment & Tourism on the potential risk to fishermen and visitors to the SCNP.
